Handset app
The app that lives on the customer's phone.
This page is for the shops and technicians who set the phones up: the app file, its checksum, and how enrolment works.

Almas SDM DPC
Android 8.0 and above · device owner
These two values belong together. A factory-reset phone downloads the app from this address during setup and checks its signature against this checksum before installing it, so a file built by somebody else cannot take its place.

What the app can do
- Enrol from a QR during setup, as device owner
- Check in on a schedule, so a queued command can reach it
- Show a kiosk lock screen carrying the payment details
- Restore the lock state after a reboot
- It does not read messages, photos or calls
- It does not block emergency calls, even while locked
- It does not report a lock it did not actually apply
- It cannot lock a phone with no signed agreement — the server refuses
How a phone is enrolled
-
1
The phone must be new or factory reset. Device owner can only be granted during setup.
-
2
Tap the welcome screen six times — Android opens its QR scanner.
-
3
Scan the QR generated in the dashboard. The phone downloads the app, verifies it against the checksum, and installs it as device owner.
-
4
The app takes credentials of its own and the handset comes under management. The QR works exactly once.
A handset that already has the app installed can redeem the code from inside the app instead, which needs neither the file nor the checksum.
The shop's own counter phone
A second, much smaller app runs on a phone of your own. It takes the queue of reminders and sends them from that handset's SIM. It has nothing to do with the customer's phone.
